This Privacy Policy describes how sRemote ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use the sRemote iOS app. sRemote is built to work entirely on your own local network and collects as little information as technically possible.
By using the app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information the app stores:
Explicitly not collected: no account or sign-in, no name, email, or phone number, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no crash reports, no usage tracking of any kind. sRemote contains no third-party SDKs — only Apple's own frameworks.
We use the information above solely to:
Nothing is used for advertising, analytics, or profiling — because nothing like that is collected.
sRemote's developer has no server, no database, and no access to any user's private CloudKit data or Keychain contents. Everything below either stays on your device or lives in infrastructure that Apple or you yourself control:
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Apple iCloud (CloudKit, your private database) | Optional backstop so your free-trial status survives reinstalls | A random trial ID + start date, stored in your own private iCloud account |
| Apple App Store (StoreKit) | Processing the one-time in-app purchase | Purchase/entitlement status only |
| Your Samsung TV (local network) | Sending remote-control commands | Sent directly, locally, over your own Wi-Fi network — never routed through any server we operate |
Keychain and on-device data persist until you delete the app or manually clear it in Settings → Manage TVs. The optional CloudKit trial record persists in your own iCloud account until you delete the app data or disable iCloud for the app — this is controlled entirely by you, through Apple's own device settings.
Because there is no account and no server-side data, most data access/deletion requests are trivially satisfied: deleting the app removes all on-device data immediately, and the pairing token, TV list, and local storage are gone with it. Optional CloudKit data can be cleared via your device's own iCloud/App storage settings at any time. If you contact us about this, we'll acknowledge that we have no way to access or act on this data ourselves — you are the only one who can, through your own device.
Depending on your location, this generally means:
Not applicable — sRemote is a native iOS app, not a website, so there are no cookies. The on-device equivalent (Keychain and local device storage) is described in Section 1 above.
sRemote is not directed at children. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, regardless of age, there is nothing further to disclose here.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
